Why Is My Battery Health Showing More Than 100%?
Explains why Battery Health 3 may display a battery health percentage above 100% and why this is normal.
This Is Normal
If Battery Health 3 is showing your battery health as slightly above 100%, there is nothing wrong with your battery or the app.
Why It Happens
Battery health is calculated by comparing your battery's current maximum capacity to its original design capacity. When a battery is manufactured, its actual capacity can vary slightly from the rated design capacity. Some batteries come from the factory with a maximum capacity that is a bit higher than the rated value.
When this happens, the health calculation produces a number above 100% because your battery can currently hold more charge than it was designed to. This is a sign that your battery is performing above its design specification.
What You Should Expect
Over time, as your battery chemically ages through normal use and charge cycles, the health percentage will gradually decrease. A reading above 100% simply means your battery started out slightly better than its rated capacity. As it wears, it will eventually settle to 100% and then continue to decline at a normal rate.
There is no action needed on your part. A health reading above 100% is a good sign and indicates a well-performing battery.
