Troubleshooting Battery Health 3
Fix common issues with Battery Health 3.
Battery health showing as Service Recommended
This is read directly from macOS and reflects Apple's own assessment. It is not a bug in Battery Health 3. Consider getting your battery serviced by Apple.
Cycle count not updating
macOS only increments the cycle count after a full charge cycle (100% total discharge, not necessarily all at once). This is normal.
iOS device not showing up
Make sure the device is connected via USB (not just Wi-Fi), unlocked, and you have tapped "Trust This Computer" on the device. Also check that the device is visible in Finder.
Temperature readings seem wrong
Battery Health 3 reads the temperature sensor directly. If you see unusual readings, it may indicate a hardware issue. Readings are in Celsius by default -- check Settings to switch to Fahrenheit.
Menu bar icon not showing battery percentage
Check Settings > Menu Bar to configure what is displayed.
