Pinning, Editing, and Deleting Clips

Learn how to pin important clips, edit clip content, and delete clips you no longer need in CopyClip 2.

CopyClip 2 lets you pin, edit, and delete individual clips using the right-click context menu. This gives you full control over your clipboard history.

Pinning Clips

Pinning a clip keeps it in the pinned section at the top of your clip list so it won't be pushed out as new clips are added. This is useful for text you paste frequently, such as email addresses, code snippets, or boilerplate text.

To pin a clip:

  1. Open CopyClip 2 and find the clip you want to pin.
  2. Right-click the clip.
  3. Select Pin from the context menu.

The clip will move into the pinned section and remain there regardless of how many new clips are added. Pinned clips keep their own order and are not moved when they are pasted or used.

You can choose where newly pinned clips are added:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Advanced.
  3. Turn Add new pinned clips to top on or off.

When this setting is on, newly pinned clips are added to the top of the pinned section. When it is off, newly pinned clips are added to the bottom of the pinned section.

To unpin a clip, right-click it again and select Unpin.

Editing Clips

You can modify the text content of any clip without having to copy it elsewhere first.

To edit a clip:

  1. Right-click the clip you want to change.
  2. Select Edit from the context menu.
  3. Make your changes and confirm.

Deleting Clips

To remove a single clip from your history:

  1. Right-click the clip you want to remove.
  2. Select Delete from the context menu.

Tip: Deleting a clip cannot be undone. If you think you might need a clip later, consider pinning it instead.

If you need to remove all clips at once, you can use the Delete All Clips button in Settings.
