Settings

CopyClip 2's Settings panel lets you configure how the app behaves. You can open it by right-clicking the menu bar icon or pressing Cmd + , with the CopyClip 2 panel open.

General Settings

The General tab includes the following options:

• Hotkey -- Set a custom keyboard shortcut to open the CopyClip 2 panel.
• Start at Login -- Automatically launch CopyClip 2 when you log in to your Mac.
• Hide window at startup -- Keep the panel hidden when CopyClip 2 starts.
• Number of clips -- Set how many clips to store in your history (maximum of 9,999).
• Theme -- Choose a colour theme for the app panel.
• Clear search on hide -- Automatically clear the search bar when the panel is dismissed.
• Paste formatted text -- When enabled, clips retain their original formatting (bold, italics, underline, etc.). When disabled, all clips are pasted as plain text.
• Direct Pasting -- Automatically paste clips at your cursor position when selected. See the Direct Pasting article for details.

Exceptions List

The Exceptions tab allows you to specify applications that CopyClip 2 should ignore. When an app is on the exceptions list, any text you copy from that app will not be captured in your clipboard history.

This is useful for apps that handle sensitive information, such as password managers.

To add an exception:

1. Open Settings and select the Exceptions tab.
2. Click the + button.
3. Select the application you want to exclude and confirm.

To remove an exception, select the app in the list and click the - button.

Clearing All Clips

If you want to start fresh, you can delete your entire clipboard history:

1. Open Settings and select the General tab.
2. Click the Delete All Clips button.
3. Confirm the action.

Tip: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to pin any important clips before clearing your history.
