Searching Your Clipboard History

Learn how to use the search bar in CopyClip 2 to quickly find past clips by keyword.

CopyClip 2 includes a search bar at the top of the panel that lets you quickly find any clip in your history by typing a keyword or phrase.

  1. Open CopyClip 2 by clicking the menu bar icon or pressing your hotkey.
  2. Click into the Search bar at the top of the panel.
  3. Type the text you're looking for.
  4. The clip list will filter in real time, showing only clips that contain your search term.

Once you find the clip you need, double-click it or use a Cmd + Number shortcut to paste it.

Clearing the Search Field

By default, the search field retains your query after you close the panel. If you prefer the search field to reset automatically, you can enable Clear search on hide in Settings under the General tab. This clears the search bar every time the CopyClip 2 panel is dismissed.

Tip: Search is especially useful when you have a large clip history. Instead of scrolling through pages, just type a few characters to narrow down the results.
