How to Move Clipboard History to Another Computer

Steps to transfer your CopyClip history between Macs

CopyClip stores all clipboard history locally on your Mac. To transfer your history to another computer, you can manually back up and restore the app's data folder.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Locate the Data Folder

CopyClip's data is stored in the following directory:

~/Library/Containers/com.fiplab.clipboard

2. Back Up the Folder

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Press Command + Shift + G to open the "Go to Folder" dialog.
  3. Paste the path above and press Enter.
  4. Copy the entire com.fiplab.clipboard folder to a USB drive, external disk, or cloud storage.

3. Restore on the New Computer

  1. Install CopyClip on the new Mac from the Mac App Store.
  2. Quit CopyClip before restoring the data.
  3. Open Finder and navigate to ~/Library/Containers/ using Command + Shift + G.
  4. Replace the existing com.fiplab.clipboard folder with your backup copy.
  5. Reopen CopyClip. Your clipboard history should now be available.

Important: Make sure CopyClip is not running when you replace the data folder. Restoring while the app is open may cause data conflicts or loss.
