Nothing Happens After I Click a Clip

How to paste after selecting a clip from CopyClip's menu

When you click a clip in CopyClip's menu, the app copies that item back onto your system clipboard. It does not automatically paste it into the active application. You need to paste it yourself.

How to Paste

After clicking a clip in the CopyClip menu:

  1. Switch to (or click into) the application where you want to paste.
  2. Press Command + V, or right-click and select Paste.

The selected clip is now on your clipboard and ready to paste into any application.

Why Doesn't It Paste Automatically?

CopyClip (the original version) is designed as a simple clipboard history manager. When you select a clip, it places that text back on your clipboard so you can paste it wherever you need. This approach gives you full control over where and when the content is pasted.

Tip: If you would prefer automatic pasting after selecting a clip, consider upgrading to CopyClip 2, which includes a Direct Paste option in its preferences.
