Getting Started with Delete Apps

Learn how to set up Delete Apps and grant the necessary folder permissions to begin scanning your Mac.

Delete Apps is an app uninstaller for Mac that finds applications and all of their associated files, so you can remove everything cleanly and reclaim disk space.

Initial Setup

When you first launch Delete Apps, you will be asked to select two folders:

  1. Applications Folder -- Click "Select Applications Folder", confirm your Applications folder in the Finder window that appears, and click "Choose".
  2. User Folder -- Click "Select User Folder", select your home folder (usually your name), and click "Choose".

These selections give Delete Apps permission to scan for installed applications and their associated files.

Full Disk Access

Delete Apps works best when granted Full Disk Access. Without it, certain areas of your drive cannot be scanned and some files may need to be removed manually. See the Full Disk Access guide for instructions on enabling this.
