Troubleshooting Disk Doctor Pro

Fix common issues with Disk Doctor Pro.

Scan results show 0 bytes

You likely need to grant Full Disk Access. See the Full Disk Access article in this section.

Finder shows different free space than Disk Doctor Pro

Finder includes purgeable space (iCloud files, Time Machine snapshots) in its free space calculation. Disk Doctor Pro shows actual free space on disk. Both are correct -- they measure differently.

Cleaning did not free up expected space

Some categories show files that may be regenerated by macOS or apps (like caches). Also, emptying the Trash is a separate step.

Time Machine snapshots taking too much space

Disk Doctor Pro can show local Time Machine snapshots. These are managed by macOS and will be automatically removed when space is needed. Disk Doctor Pro shows them for visibility.

App crashes during scan

Make sure you are running the latest version. If the issue persists, try granting Full Disk Access (even if already granted -- toggle off, then on again).
