Reviewing and Cleaning Results

After a scan completes, Disk Doctor presents a detailed breakdown of the junk files it found. This article explains how to review the results and clean up your drive.

Understanding the Results

Each category shows how much space it occupies and includes a checkbox to select it for removal.

The summary at the top displays:

• Your current free space.
• How much space can be freed.
• What your new available space will be after cleaning.

Reviewing Individual Categories

You can toggle individual categories on or off to control exactly what gets cleaned. Use the following controls next to each category:

• Info (i) -- View a description of what the category contains.
• Details -- See the specific files that will be removed, and deselect any you want to keep.
• View -- Open the corresponding folder in Finder.

Cleaning Selected Files

Before cleaning, we recommend creating a Time Machine backup so you can restore any files if needed.

When you are ready, click Next to proceed with the cleanup. Disk Doctor will remove the selected files and display a summary of how much space was recovered.

After Cleaning

From the summary screen you can rescan your drive to check for additional files or quit the app.
