How Do I Scan All Areas of My Disk

Grant Full Disk Access to Disk Doctor so it can scan your entire drive on macOS Mojave and later.

Starting with macOS Mojave, Apple introduced privacy protections that prevent apps from accessing certain areas of your drive without explicit permission. Without Full Disk Access, Disk Doctor will still work but some categories may report incomplete results because parts of your drive cannot be scanned.

Granting Full Disk Access

To allow Disk Doctor to scan your entire drive, you need to enable Full Disk Access in System Settings. For step-by-step instructions, see our Full Disk Access guide.

Once Full Disk Access is enabled for Disk Doctor, restart the app and run a new scan. All areas of your drive will now be included in the results.
