Settings

Access preferences from the menu bar under Disk Map or by pressing Cmd + , while the app is running.

General

The General tab lets you configure the following settings:

• File deletion behavior -- Choose how Disk Map handles file deletion (e.g., move to Trash or permanently delete).
• Hidden and system files -- Toggle whether hidden and system files are displayed in the treemap.
• Minimum file size -- Set a minimum file size threshold for the scan so that very small files are excluded from the visualization.
• Excluded extensions -- Define file extensions to exclude from scans.
• Excluded folders -- Define specific folders to exclude from scans.

Color Theme

The Color Theme tab lets you choose from several visual themes for the treemap display.

You can also base the coloring on different criteria:

• File size -- Highlights larger files with more prominent colors.
• Folder depth -- Uses color to indicate how deeply nested files and folders are within the directory structure.
