Customizing Folder Icons

Folder Designer provides several ways to customize the look of your folder icons, including built-in icons, custom images, patterns, and background colors.

Adding an Icon

With the "Icon" tab selected, click the grey box labelled "Click to select an icon". You will see a library of built-in icons to choose from.

To use your own image instead, click "Select Custom Icon..." and choose an image file from Finder.

Adjusting Icon Size and Position

Once an icon is selected, you can adjust its appearance on the folder.

• Size -- Drag the "Scale" slider to resize the icon.

• Position -- Click and drag the icon directly to reposition it on the folder.

Changing the Background Color

To change the folder's background color, check the "Enabled" box under the tint section. Click the "Tint Color" box to open the color picker and choose a color. The preview updates immediately.

Using Patterns

Switch to the "Pattern" tab to apply a full-color image pattern to the folder instead of an embossed icon. Click the blank square to select a pattern image from your Mac.

You can adjust the scale and position of the pattern the same way you would with an icon, and you can combine it with a custom background color.
