Accessibility Permissions

How to grant Accessibility access to FIPLAB apps that need it.

Some FIPLAB apps require Accessibility permissions to function correctly. Without these permissions, features like keyboard shortcuts, paste actions, and window management will not work even though the app appears to launch normally.

Apps That Require Accessibility Access

The following FIPLAB apps need Accessibility permissions:

  • CopyClip 2
  • Shortcut Bar
  • Window Manager
  • Paste Plain Text
  • Power Menu
  • Presentation Assistant
  • Window Focus

How to Grant Accessibility Access

  1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).
  2. Go to Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
  3. Find the app in the list and toggle it ON.
  4. If the app does not appear in the list, click the + button and navigate to /Applications to add it manually.
  5. After granting access, restart the app for the change to take effect.

Automatic Prompts on macOS Ventura and Later

On macOS Ventura (13.0) and later, macOS may prompt you automatically the first time an app tries to use Accessibility features. When this prompt appears, click Open System Settings and toggle the app on.

Troubleshooting

The toggle is greyed out. On older versions of macOS, you may need to click the padlock icon in the bottom-left corner and authenticate with your password before you can make changes.

The app launches but shortcuts or actions do not work. This is the most common symptom of missing Accessibility permissions. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and confirm the app is listed and toggled on.

The app is toggled on but still not working. Try toggling the app off, then back on again. Restart the app afterward. If the issue persists, remove the app from the Accessibility list, re-add it, and restart the app.
