Discontinued Apps

Information about FIPLAB apps that are no longer actively developed.

Over the past 17+ years, FIPLAB has built more than 60 apps for macOS and iOS. As macOS has evolved and newer replacements have been released, some of our older apps have been retired. This article provides information about discontinued apps and answers common questions.

List of Discontinued Apps

The following apps are no longer actively developed or available for purchase:

  • Audio Recorder - A basic audio recording utility for macOS.
  • GIF Recorder - A screen-to-GIF recording tool.
  • Infinity Dashboard - Custom dashboard widgets for your desktop.
  • Infinity Antivirus - A malware and virus scanner for macOS.
  • MiniNote / MiniNote Pro (NotesTab Pro) - A lightweight note-taking app.
  • Photo Cleaner - A photo library cleanup tool.
  • Share Bucket - A file sharing utility.
  • Privacy Protector - A browsing privacy tool.
  • Smart Folder Cleaner - An automated folder cleaning utility.
  • StockTab - A stock market tracker.
  • Stream Media - A Samsung TV streaming app.
  • Weather Guru - Menu bar weather forecasts (discontinued at the end of 2021).
  • Go for Gmail - A Gmail client (removed from the App Store).
  • Go for Facebook - A Facebook client (removed from the App Store).
  • Go for YouTube - A YouTube client (removed from the App Store).
  • InstaReel - An Instagram client (removed from the App Store).
  • Made for WhatsApp - A WhatsApp client (removed from the App Store).
  • Duplicate Finder for iPhoto - A duplicate photo finder.
  • MenuTab / MenuTab Pro - Facebook in your menu bar (removed from the App Store).

I purchased a discontinued app. Can I still use it?

Yes. If you have already downloaded and installed a discontinued app, it will continue to work on your Mac. However, please be aware that future macOS updates may eventually break compatibility, and no further updates or bug fixes will be provided for discontinued apps.

Can I get a refund?

Discontinued apps are not eligible for refunds. These apps were fully functional at the time of purchase and may continue to work on your current macOS version. Discontinuation means no further updates will be provided, but it does not affect the value of the original purchase.

Is there a replacement?

Several discontinued apps have been succeeded by newer, improved versions:

  • Memory Clean has been replaced by Memory Clean 3 (now called Memory Meter 3).
  • CopyClip has been replaced by CopyClip 2.
  • Duplicate Detective has been replaced by Duplicate Detective 2.
  • Disk Doctor has been replaced by Disk Doctor Pro.
  • Download Shuttle has been replaced by Download Shuttle Pro.

Some apps, including Go for Gmail, Go for Facebook, Go for YouTube, InstaReel, Made for WhatsApp, and MenuTab, were removed because the underlying platforms changed their policies or APIs, making it no longer possible to maintain them. There are no direct replacements for these apps.
