Customising the Trail Effect

Magic Trail lets you fine-tune the appearance and behaviour of the cursor trail to match your preferences.

Trail Size

The trail size controls how large the trail particles appear on screen. You can adjust it in two ways:

• Menu bar -- click the Magic Trail icon and use the Trail Size slider.
• Settings -- open Settings and use the Trail Size slider under Trail Settings.

Trail Length

The trail length controls how far the trail extends behind your cursor. A shorter trail fades quickly, while a longer trail leaves a more dramatic effect.

• Menu bar -- click the Magic Trail icon and use the Trail Length slider.
• Settings -- open Settings and use the Trail Length slider under Trail Settings. Drag left for a shorter trail, right for a longer one.

Hide Trail When Mouse is Not Moving

By default, the trail animation continues even while the cursor is stationary. If you prefer a cleaner look when the mouse is idle:

1. Open Settings.
2. Under Trail Settings, enable Hide Trail When Mouse is Not Moving.

When enabled, the trail particles fade away when your cursor stops and reappear the instant you move again.

Left-Handed Mode

If you use a left-handed mouse setup, Magic Trail can flip the trail direction to match:

1. Open Settings.
2. Under Trail Settings, enable Left-Handed Mode.

Troubleshooting

The trail feels too long or too short

Adjust the Trail Length slider in Settings or directly from the menu bar dropdown to find a length that suits you.
