What is the Extreme Clean mode?

Extreme Clean is an optional in-app purchase for Memory Clean that unlocks a more aggressive memory cleaning process. It frees significantly more memory than the standard clean by using an advanced technique developed through extensive testing and research.

How it works

The Extreme Clean process performs a deep clean of your Mac's memory. Because it is more thorough than the standard mode, it takes longer to complete. The exact amount of additional memory freed depends on several factors, including your total RAM, the number of open applications, and how much free memory is currently available.

In internal testing on a MacBook Pro with 8 GB of RAM, Extreme Clean typically freed between 1 GB and 1.5 GB more than the standard cleaning mode.

Using Extreme Clean

After purchasing the in-app upgrade, an Extreme Clean button will appear in the app interface alongside the standard Clean Memory button.

You can also configure the Auto Clean feature to use Extreme Clean instead of the standard clean. This option is available in the Settings panel.
