Getting Started with Memory Clean 3

Learn what Memory Clean 3 does, how to launch it, and how to use the menu bar icon to monitor your Mac's memory.

What is Memory Clean 3?

Memory Clean 3 is a menu bar app that monitors and optimizes your Mac's memory (RAM). It replicates the feeling of a fresh system restart and helps keep your Mac running smoothly. It is best used after you have finished using a memory-intensive app or game.

First Launch

Memory Clean 3 runs as a menu bar app. When you launch it for the first time, a memory chip icon will appear in the menu bar at the top of your screen.

Next to the memory chip icon, you will see the amount of free memory (in MB) currently available on your Mac. Clicking the icon opens the main app window with a more detailed, color-coded breakdown of your memory usage.

Basic Usage

From the main app window you can:

  • View your free memory at a glance, along with a color-coded graph showing how your RAM is being used.
  • Clean memory by clicking the Clean button at the bottom of the window.
  • Check Memory Hogs to see which apps are using the most RAM.
  • Review Inactive Apps to find apps you have not used recently.

Opening Settings

You can access the Settings panel in two ways:

  1. Right-click the Memory Clean 3 icon in the menu bar and select Settings.
  2. With the app window open, press Cmd + , on your keyboard.

Tip: Memory Clean 3 can be set to launch automatically when you log in. You can enable this in Settings under the General tab.
