Settings Overview

A summary of all the settings available in Memory Clean 3, including General, Menubar, and Theme options.

Opening Settings

You can open the Settings panel in two ways:

  1. Right-click the Memory Clean 3 icon in the menu bar and select Settings.
  2. With the app window open, press Cmd + , on your keyboard.

General

The General tab lets you control core app behavior:

  • Launch at login -- Start Memory Clean 3 automatically when you log in to your Mac.
  • Show in Dock -- Choose whether the app icon appears in the Dock.
  • Compact mode -- Display the app window in a smaller, reduced-size layout.

The Menubar tab controls how memory information is displayed in your menu bar:

  • Display format -- Show free memory as a numerical value (MB/GB) or as a percentage.
  • Text size -- Adjust the size of the memory readout in the menu bar.
  • Text length -- Control how much detail is shown in the menu bar text.
  • Memory chip icon -- Show or hide the memory chip icon next to the readout.

Theme

The Theme tab lets you customize the appearance of the app window:

  • Dark -- Use a dark background.
  • Light -- Use a light background.
  • Auto -- Match the app appearance to your Mac's system settings automatically.

Other Settings

Memory Clean 3 also has settings for App Management (Memory Hogs, Inactive Apps, and the Ignore List) and Advanced options (auto clean thresholds, cooldown, and refresh interval). These are covered in their own dedicated articles.
