Owly Settings

Configure startup behavior, hotkeys, notifications, icon appearance, and default settings in Owly

Accessing Settings

Open Settings from the Owly menu panel or by pressing Cmd+Comma. The Settings window has three tabs: General, Triggers, and About.

General

  • Start at login -- Launch Owly automatically when you log in to your Mac.
  • Show icon in dock -- Toggle whether Owly appears in the Dock in addition to the menu bar.
  • Activate with hot key -- Set a global keyboard shortcut to toggle sleep prevention without clicking the menu bar icon.
  • Show notifications -- Receive notifications when Owly activates or deactivates.
  • Show countdown in menu bar -- Display the remaining time directly in the menu bar next to the icon.
  • Active icon color -- Choose from multiple icon colors including system accent, blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, and white.
  • Default duration -- Set the duration that Owly uses by default when activated.
  • Sleep mode -- Set the default sleep mode (Keep Awake or Allow Display Sleep).

Configure power, schedule, and app-based triggers to have Owly activate automatically. See the Smart Triggers article for full details on each trigger type.
