Mouse Pointer and Click Effects

Presentation Assistant provides two complementary visual tools to help your audience track your cursor and understand your actions: mouse pointer highlighting and click effects.

Mouse Pointer Highlighting

The mouse pointer highlighting feature draws attention to your cursor so your audience never loses track of where you are on screen. You can choose from three pointer styles:

• Ring -- A glowing ring that surrounds your cursor.
• Spotlight -- Darkens the rest of the screen while keeping the area around your cursor illuminated.
• Disk -- A solid coloured disk centred on your cursor.

Customisation Options

Each style can be customised with the following controls:

• Size -- Adjust the radius of the highlight area.
• Transparency -- Control how opaque or translucent the highlight appears.
• Blur -- Add or remove blur around the edges of the highlight.
• Colour -- Pick any colour for the highlight effect.

You can enable or disable the mouse pointer effect using a custom keyboard shortcut, or toggle it on and off with the slider in the settings panel.

Click Effects

Click visualisation shows an animated ripple effect each time you click, making it clear to your audience exactly when and where a click occurs.

Click Effect Settings

• Toggle with shortcut -- Assign a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable click effects independently of the pointer highlight.
• Size -- Control the diameter of the click ripple.
• Opacity -- Adjust how visible the click effect appears.
• Magnification -- Enable an expanding animation on click for added emphasis, with adjustable expansion size.
• Left and right click colours -- Set different colours for left and right mouse clicks so your audience can distinguish between them.

Recommendations

• Use the spotlight pointer style for screen recordings where you want to focus the viewer's attention on a specific area.
• Set distinct colours for left and right clicks to make it obvious which mouse button is being used.
• Combine pointer highlighting with click effects for maximum clarity during live demonstrations.
