How Keyword Filters Work

Keyword filters let you control which articles trigger notifications. When filters are active, you will only receive notifications for articles whose title, content, or description contains one of your specified keywords. All other articles remain available in the feed list -- they simply will not generate a notification.

Setting Up Keyword Filters

1. Open Settings and navigate to the keyword filters section.
2. Add one or more keywords (for example: "Apple", "SwiftUI", "WWDC").
3. Notifications will now only trigger when an incoming article matches at least one of your keywords.

When to Use Keyword Filters

Keyword filters are useful for following broad feeds while staying focused on specific topics that matter to you. For example, if you subscribe to a general tech news feed but only care about Apple-related stories, adding "Apple" as a keyword ensures you are only notified about relevant articles while still having access to the full feed.

Interaction with Notifications

When keyword filters are active, only matching articles generate macOS notifications. Articles that do not match your keywords are still fetched and available in your feed list -- they are simply silent. You can toggle keyword filtering on or off in Settings without losing your keyword list.
