Appearance and Themes

Shortcut Bar offers several options to customize how the app looks and where it appears on your screen.

Dark Mode

Shortcut Bar follows your macOS appearance setting. To switch between light and dark mode:

1. Open System Settings (or System Preferences on older versions of macOS).
2. Go to Appearance.
3. Select Light, Dark, or Auto.

Shortcut Bar will update its appearance automatically to match your system setting.

Themes

You can choose from different visual themes for the Shortcut Bar dropdown to suit your personal style. Theme options are available in the Settings panel.

Positioning

You can adjust where the Shortcut Bar dropdown appears relative to the menu bar icon. This is useful if you have a lot of menu bar items and want the dropdown to open in a specific position.

Compact Mode

Compact mode reduces the spacing between items in the dropdown, letting you see more shortcuts at a glance without scrolling. This is helpful if you have a large number of shortcuts.

You can toggle compact mode in the Settings panel.

Show Icon in Dock

By default, Shortcut Bar runs as a menu bar app only. If you prefer, you can enable Show Icon in Dock in Settings. Clicking the dock icon will open the dropdown menu from the menu bar.
