Menu Bar Icon Missing on macOS Tahoe

How to fix a missing menu bar icon for FIPLAB apps on macOS Tahoe.

If you have updated to macOS Tahoe and your FIPLAB app's menu bar icon is no longer visible, macOS may be hiding it through a new system setting.

Check Menu Bar Settings

macOS Tahoe introduced a built-in menu bar item visibility control. Each app that places an icon in the menu bar can be individually shown or hidden.

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Go to Menu Bar.
  3. Find the name of the FIPLAB app (for example, CopyClip 2, Memory Meter 3, or Owly).
  4. Make sure it is set to Allow.

If the app was set to hidden, changing it to Allow will restore the icon immediately.

If the Icon Is Still Missing

If the app is already set to Allow or does not appear in the Menu Bar settings, try the following:

  1. Quit the app completely. You can do this by opening Activity Monitor, searching for the app name, and clicking Force Quit.
  2. Relaunch the app from your Applications folder.
  3. If the icon still does not appear, restart your Mac and try again.

If you are running the app from a location other than your Applications folder, it may crash silently. See App Crashing (Wrong Install Location) for more information.

Affected Apps

This setting applies to any FIPLAB app that shows an icon in the menu bar, including CopyClip 2, Memory Meter 3, Battery Health 3, Owly, Screen Tint, Paste Plain Text, Space Drop, and others.
