Notifications Not Working

Fix missing or delayed notifications from FIPLAB apps.

Several FIPLAB apps rely on macOS notifications to keep you informed -- battery alerts, download completions, RSS feed updates, and more. If you are not receiving notifications, work through the steps below.

1. Check Notification Permissions

Open System Settings > Notifications and scroll to find the FIPLAB app in question. Make sure notifications are enabled for that app.

Within the app's notification settings, confirm the notification style is set to Banners or Alerts -- not None. If it is set to None, notifications will be silently suppressed by macOS.

2. Check Focus and Do Not Disturb

macOS Focus modes (including Do Not Disturb) can block notifications from apps that are not explicitly allowed. Open System Settings > Focus and review your active Focus profiles. Either disable the active Focus mode or add the FIPLAB app to its allowed list.

3. Make Sure the App Is Running

Some FIPLAB apps need to be running in the background to send notifications. Apps that live in the menu bar (such as Battery Health 3, Memory Meter 3, and RSS Bot) must remain open to monitor conditions and deliver alerts. Check your menu bar or Activity Monitor to confirm the app is running.

4. Re-grant Permissions After a macOS Update

After a major macOS update, notification permissions can sometimes be reset or require re-authorization. If notifications stopped working after updating macOS, revisit System Settings > Notifications, locate the app, and toggle notifications off and then back on.

5. Restart the App

After making any changes to notification settings, quit the app completely and relaunch it. Changes to notification preferences are not always picked up by a running app until it is restarted.
