Drag-to-Snap Window Zones

Overview

Window Manager lets you snap windows into position by dragging them to the edges and corners of your screen. This feature is called hot corners and provides a fast, mouse-driven way to arrange your windows without touching the keyboard.

How It Works

When hot corners are enabled, dragging a window to a specific area of your screen will automatically resize and reposition it:

• Left or right edge -- Snaps the window to the left or right half of the screen.
• Top edge -- Maximizes the window to fill the entire screen.
• Bottom edge -- Resizes the window to a third or two-thirds of the screen.
• Corners -- Snaps the window to the corresponding quarter of the screen (top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right).

Simply drag a window's title bar toward the desired edge or corner and release it. The window will snap into place.

Enabling or Disabling Hot Corners

Hot corners can be toggled on or off in the app's settings:

1. Open Window Manager's Settings window.
2. Click the Settings tab.
3. Check or uncheck Enable hot corners.

When disabled, dragging windows to the edges of your screen will have no effect. You can still use keyboard shortcuts, the menu bar dropdown, or the fullscreen button overlay to position windows.

Fullscreen Button Overlay

In addition to hot corners, Window Manager can add a quick-pick overlay that appears when you hover over a window's green fullscreen button. The overlay shows a set of popular window arrangements, and clicking one will instantly resize and reposition the window.

To enable or disable this feature:

1. Open Window Manager's Settings window.
2. Click the Settings tab.
3. Check or uncheck Enable fullscreen button overlay on hover.

Tip: The fullscreen button overlay works on virtually any window that has a standard title bar. It is a convenient alternative when you want to position a window without remembering a keyboard shortcut.
