Troubleshooting Window Manager

Fix common issues with Window Manager.

Keyboard Shortcuts Not Working

Window Manager needs Accessibility permission. Check System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility and toggle Window Manager on. If it is already on, try toggling it off and on again.

Shortcuts Conflict with Other Apps

If another app uses the same keyboard shortcut, one will take priority. Change the shortcut in Window Manager Settings > Shortcuts, or disable the conflicting shortcut in the other app.

Snap Areas Not Appearing

Make sure snap areas are enabled in Settings. Drag a window to the edge of your screen and snap areas should appear. If using multiple displays, check that snap areas are configured for each display.

Window Not Resizing Correctly

Some apps have minimum window sizes that prevent them from being resized to certain positions. This is a limitation of the app, not Window Manager.

Doesn't Work with Certain Apps

Some apps (especially non-native or Electron apps) may not respond to window management commands correctly. This is because they handle window events differently.

macOS Built-in Window Tiling (Sequoia and Later)

macOS Sequoia introduced built-in window tiling. Window Manager works alongside it, but you may want to disable the built-in tiling in System Settings > Desktop & Dock if you prefer Window Manager's behaviour exclusively.
