Does CopyClip 2 Support Images?

Information about image support in CopyClip 2.

CopyClip 2 is a text-only clipboard manager. It records and stores text clips that you copy, but it does not capture or store images.

If you copy an image to your clipboard, it will not appear in your CopyClip 2 history. Only text-based content (plain text, rich text, URLs, code snippets, etc.) is recorded.

Why Text Only?

CopyClip 2 is designed to be lightweight and fast. Storing images in clipboard history would significantly increase memory usage and slow down the app, which goes against its goal of being a simple, efficient clipboard tool that runs quietly in your menu bar.

Tips

  • If you need to reference an image you copied earlier, consider saving it to a file or using a dedicated screenshot manager.
  • CopyClip 2 works best as a tool for quickly accessing text you have copied throughout the day.
